Growing up in Rhode Island, the Boston Marathon didn't exist. I mean, it EXISTED, but I couldn't have told you what month it was in, or how many people go - it's just not something my family or friends ever followed. My husband on the other hand, grew up on the marathon route, and it was a big event for his family growing up.

As adults, we spend Patriot's day in the same spot that he used to go, to watch the crazy waves of people run by.
