POSTED BY: Stefanie LaSalle For four years, Bristol, RI was my home. Such a beautiful little town <3 POSTED BY: Stefanie LaSalle This snowy day reminds me of my family's recent trip to Londonderry, NH. My dad planned the trip for the four of us as a Christmas present for my mom. We drove up, through a snowstorm, had dinner at The Coach Stop, and saw my parents' favorite new band at Tupelo Music Hall. Here we are at dinner at the The Coach Stop, right down the street from Tupelo. Oh. My. God. Steak. We went to dinner early, so we basically got a room all to ourselves. There is also a really cool lounge/pub on the second floor that has acoustic music on the weekends. I got the biggest, most delicious sirloin - we all got steaks, except for Kerry. The opener was the Brian Jarvis Band. They were great. Very mellow, but also very charismatic and funny. THE ALTERNATE ROOTS. My parents are obsessed with this band, and now I know why. Not only is the lead singer's voice amazing, but the whole band really knows how to work the crowd. Is he holding a toolbox in his hand in this picture? Why, yes, he is. What is it for? YOU'LL HAVE TO GO SEE THEM YOURSELF TO FIND OUT. It was a great show. the best part about Tupelo is that it's so small, and even the back row is like sitting across someone's living room.
We had a great little weekend adventure, just the four of us, which we haven't done in a long time. Check out these bands or Tupelo if you ever get the chance! POSTED BY: Stefanie LaSalle This weekend Rob and I went to our first murder mystery party hosted by our friends and neighbors, Matt and Krista (a.k.a. Notorious Nick and Aunt Rosie, pictured above) This Murder Mystery took place in the 1920's at Aunt Rosie's speakeasy, the Juice Joint. We all got dressed up in our best period garb, and everyone looked amazing. Scroll down for some more mugshots from the night! I highly recommend hosting one of these parties yourself. You can see from the website that there are all sorts of themes you can choose from. And if you've never done one before, no worries. They send you everything you need to host the night.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! I love Ree Drummond, a.k.a. The Pioneer Woman. I'm borderline obsessed with her. So you can imagine my excitement when she announced her 2013 Holiday Cookbook signing tour and Boston was at the top of her list. So Wednesday, October 30th I took the day off from work and planned to head into the city to get my copy signed. For anyone who's a fan of baseball, especially in the Northeast, Wednesday, October 30th might ring some bells. That's because it was game 6 of the world series - the game the Red Sox won, in Boston, to take the series victory this year. Oh, and Obama, the president of the United States, was also in town because, what the hell, why not? So PW made the difficult but ultimately smart decision to cancel her visit with promises of coming back on another day that would be more convenient for her fans to find their way into the city. And that day has come. BAM! Here we are with Ree herself right after she signed my copy of her holiday cookbook. You should also check out her website for recipes at her website.
She also has a show on Food Network on Saturday mornings, you know, in case you're interested. |
